Wooden flooring fastening

Our floorboards are made from wood from the northern regions of Scandinavia. Therefore, they are more resistant to friction and with smaller branches. Our floorboards are dried to 8-10% humidity (this is very important to prevent gaps). All floorboards come ready for fixing, they do not require any additional sanding, and they have an overturned groove on all four sides.

The most important rule before fixing is that the floorboards should be kept for 4-5 days (in the original packaging) in the room where they will be fixed. This will equalize the relative humidity of the floorboards with the relative humidity of the room.

Be sure to make sure that the base on which you will fix the floor is clean and dry.

Fixing of floorboards usually starts from the longest wall. Use spacers between the wall and the boards (the gap should be about 1cm). When joining from the width, use the offcut of another board (do not hit the board directly with a hammer).

Turn the wood screws at an angle of 45 degrees:

For fixing screws, it is best to choose those that have a drill bit on the front. Using such screws will prevent cracks.

Recommended propellers:

  • For 15-20mm boards - 42 mm long
  • For 25-30mm boards - 58 mm long

Fix floorboards on the principle of "floating" parquet, i.e. when you finish one row, start the next one with the remaining end from the first row. All floorboards have cutouts ("pins"), so you can connect them lengthwise at any place, not necessarily on the rafters. By fixing in this way, the consumption (yield) of the boards will be close to 100%.

When attaching the last row, you will probably need to split the board in half lengthwise. If a narrow strip is required for finishing, we suggest gluing it to the penultimate floorboard.

When fixing around the pipes, drill the required number of holes (the diameter should be 1 cm larger than the pipes) and cut a piece of floorboard (cut into a cone). Once the baseboard is in place, glue the cut piece back to the board.
